Most fenced off-leash dog parks in Louisville are run by the Louisville Dog Run Association (LDRA). One annual permit opens all seven of them. Every dog inside is vaccinated and registered, which is why regulars say these parks feel cleaner and calmer. Here’s everything you need to get yours in one trip.

What it costs in 2026

First dog: $50

Second dog: $40

Third dog: $30

Each additional dog: $25

Permits are good through December 31, 2026. 100% of the fee goes to the LDRA for park upkeep.

How to get your permit

  1. Download and fill out the 2026 application at louisvilledogs.org

  2. Gather proof of each dog’s rabies vaccination and a current Louisville Metro pet license.

  3. Sign the dog park rules and release on the application.

  4. Take everything in person to a participating Feeders Supply store and pay there.

  5. You’ll leave with an electronic key fob that opens the gates (one per household) and a tag for each dog, which must be worn inside the park.

Call your Feeders Supply ahead. Permits can sell out later in the year.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a permit for every dog park in Louisville?

For the seven LDRA parks, yes. Morton Avenue Dog Park is the exception: it’s free and needs no membership.

Where do I buy a Louisville dog park permit?

In person at a participating Feeders Supply store. The LDRA doesn’t sell permits online.

I’m visiting Louisville. Can my dog use the parks?

Email the LDRA at info@louisvilledogs.org to ask about temporary access to Cochran Hill Dog Run in Cherokee Park.

Is there a free dog park in Louisville?

Yes. Morton Avenue Dog Park (1548 Morton Ave) is free, volunteer-run and open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
